Hamira Riaz DClinPsych PhD
Hamira is a Managing Consultant at YSC with 15 years line-management and team leadership experience in the National Health Service, Ministry of Defence and International Publishing. She uses a combination of clinical and non-clinical approaches to help individuals shift perspective and overcome blockers to change, in particular, drawing on RET or rational-emotive techniques, attribution theory and models of cognitive dissonance.
Hamira is experienced in adapting assessment tools developed in the US & UK for use in non-English speaking environments, and has published and presented internationally in this areUUPPa. She is engaged with multi-national clients including BP, Cadbury Schweppes and Diageo to consolidate a body of knowledge around the common do's and don'ts in the melting pot of cultures within which they operate. She has a strong research interest around 'best practise' models of executive transition with particular reference to international and cross-cultural moves.
Hamira is an experienced coach who has supported the effectiveness of many executives negotiating the transition from familiar to unknown cultures and first time leaders of culturally diverse teams. She is also concerned with supporting 'intuitive' leaders and women in senior management roles.
Her international experience covers the US, Russia, Indian sub-continent, Middle-East, Australia and Asia-Pacific. She is fluent in Hindi and Punjabi.
